When someone is struggling with both mental health challenges and substance use, outpatient care often is not enough. Stabilization requires structure, medical oversight, and a therapeutic environment that treats the whole person, not just symptoms.
At Josie’s Hope Center PV, our Residential Care program provides 24-hour clinically managed treatment for adults 18 and older facing primary mental health disorders, substance use disorders, or co-occurring conditions. As a 10-bed dual diagnosis facility in Phoenix, we deliver personalized, concierge-level care in a structured yet compassionate setting designed to promote lasting recovery.
What Is Residential Treatment?
Residential treatment is the highest non-hospital level of behavioral healthcare. Clients live on-site and participate in structured therapy, psychiatric stabilization, and wellness programming every day. This level of care removes outside distractions and creates a focused environment where healing can begin safely.
Residential care is appropriate for individuals who:
-
Have relapsed repeatedly
-
Need medication stabilization
-
Experience co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
-
Require a structured, distraction-free environment
-
Have not progressed in outpatient programs
-
Need 24-hour clinical oversight
Our average length of stay ranges from 21 to 45 days, depending on each individual’s clinical needs and progress.
Our Dual Diagnosis Approach
Mental health disorders and addiction frequently occur together. Treating only one often leads to relapse or destabilization. Our treatment model integrates both simultaneously through coordinated psychiatric and therapeutic care.
We treat conditions such as:
-
Depression
-
Anxiety disorders
-
Trauma and PTSD
-
Mood disorders
-
Alcohol use disorder
-
Opioid use disorder
-
Benzodiazepine dependence
-
Polysubstance use
-
Co-occurring psychiatric conditions
Our programming is grounded in evidence-based modalities including:
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
-
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
-
Trauma-informed therapy
-
Exposure Response Therapy
-
Relapse prevention education
-
Emotional regulation training
Residents receive care from a multidisciplinary team that includes licensed therapists, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, medical providers, case managers, and peer support specialists. This integrated approach ensures that mental health stabilization and addiction recovery are treated together, not in isolation.
